generation y

Since I work with teenagers on a daily basis I am always interested in trends of a generation. I found it interesting when marko posted about this article from the LA Times about Generation Y and how they are not as narcissistic as people say they are. Many times I have heard parents say that their children only care about themselves and for some this may be true - I mean they are teenagers. However, I am always surprised at how willing, at least the students I know, are to accept someone into their larger circle of friends. On top of that I have noticed that many students Christian or not care greatly about the world in which they live. So to read this article in the LA Times that states how the students are not nearly as narcissistic as previous generations was a welcomed change from hearing about how "we need to do something so these kids are not so dang selfish."

Here is a link to the article - you may have to sign up to read it (free registration)
